Scary Global Warming Report

Global Warming
The Washington Post

The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department  yesterday from Consultants at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.

Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulfstream  still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

I apologize.   I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922, as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post - 88 years ago!

I love this blog entry. Climate and weather have been around for a long time and people notice changes in their micro-climate but those changes do not translate into global changes. The sun's output is the primary factor, and what is interesting to me is that we are continually learning new, climate-affecting things about old Sol.

Hello Liberty Lover,
It's been a while since you blogged. Do you have something in the works? I am looking forward to more articles.

I'm glad you look forward to my articles. Yes, I do have others in the works, in various stages. Don't know when they will appear--other things always seem to interfere--and I don't have any particular schedule or deadline.
In the meantime, you might want to check my past entries by going to the American Liberty Publishers homepage (www.amlibpub.com) and clicking on FREE ESSAYS in red at the top of the page. This will give you a list of more than a hundred of my previous postings. You can then click on any title that interests you and be transported to that article. This is better than searching month-by-month through the ARCHIVES for something you might like, because the blog has no index.

Also, I should have mentioned that, since you enjoy my articles, I think you would enjoy my books MAKERS AND TAKERS and THE TROJAN PROJECT. I'd be glad to autograph copies to you personally. See details on the Order Form, which you can find from the American Liberty Publishers homepage.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Ed! LOL!

And I'd like to second your recommendation on M&T. I think it's the only economic-philosophy oriented book I ever read that I actually enjoyed. You have a rare skill for making things interesting and weaving memorable stories in and around the theories.

Keep on writing guy!
